Prerequisites
The online Teach English As a Foreign Language (TEFL) course and Online English Teaching (OET) course both require that the student enrolled in either of the two courses is fully competent in both written and spoken English with an advanced level of English. By agreeing to these terms of use, the student agrees that their level of English for both written and spoken English is advanced and that the student is fully literate.
The online TEFL course and OET course offered by The English Square are both online courses and thus require that students have a good understanding of and ability to use a computer or laptop to log in to the course, navigate the course, download assignments, upload assignments, connect to live evaluations via Zoom, access an email address to communicate with the instructors and correctly input coupon codes where applicable. For live evaluations, a camera and good quality microphone (in built or external) are required by the student. An Internet speed of at least 10 megabytes per second (mbps) for both the upload and download speed are required for live evaluations. Students are required to have Word document in order to complete the assignments in the online TEFL or OET course.
For the OET course, students are required to have a video camera either on their phone, computer or a professional camera to record introduction and application videos.
Job placement
The English Square will not be held responsible for students not being accepted to teach English through online websites or through language institutions abroad or locally for any reason.
Intellectual Property
1. Unless otherwise noted, all materials used to create the OET Course, including, but not limited to all text, editorial content, images, graphics, logos, illustrations, photographs, video, audio, and other materials, as well as the designs, icons, layout, “look and feel,” and all other graphical elements of the course and all copyrights, trademarks, service marks, tradenames, patents and other intellectual property rights in any of the foregoing (collectively, the “Course Materials”) are the sole and exclusive property of The English Square (or its subsidiaries, affiliates, or designees) or its third-party licensors, and are protected by South African laws and international treaties. By indicating that you accept these terms, you understand that you do not become the owner of the course materials of the online TEFL course or OET course provided by The English Square, but are entitled to use the course material for learning purposes.
2. Students enrolling in this course are not authorized to:-
(i) copy, modify, reproduce, re-publish, sub-licence, sell, upload, broadcast, post, transmit or distribute any of the course materials of the online TEFL course or OET course;
(ii) record on video or audio tape, relay by videophone or other means the TEFL course’s or OET course’s course materials.
iii) use the course materials of the online TEFL course or OET course in the provision of any other course or training
Access
From the time of purchase, students have access to this online TEFL course for a period of six months after which the course will expire. A maximum of an additional six month extension can be enabled.
Evaluation rules:
- Do not ask your instructor to add times outside of those which they have added to their schedule.
- Submit your written assignment before booking your live evaluation. Our instructors can not mark blindly.
- If you cancel the evaluation time less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, you will need to pay an additional $10 in order to reschedule a new time.
Note: Live evaluations take place with either one or two instructors.
